Metabolic Conditioning

Firstly, don’t let the terms or acronyms scare you. Metabolic Conditioning isn’t new, but it’s popularity has increased massively in recent times.

Metcon is used to describe a style of workout that usually combines cardio conditioning and strength training, alongside aerobic and anaerobic exercises.  This style of workout will help optimise and increase your body’s energy output, by recruiting all 3 of your body’s energy pathways.

We refer to these programmed metcon sessions as WODs (workout of the day) 

And our top quality coaches programme different forms of these workouts, including: 

AMRAP (as many reps/rounds as possible)

In an “AMRAP” session, you’ll complete as many reps or rounds of an exercise as possible within a given time.

EMOM

In an “EMOM” session, you’ll complete a set number of reps at the start of every minute, and the remaining time will count as rest.

For Time

In a “For Time” session, you complete a specified workout in the fastest time you can
